Planda, a company as devoted to the environment and animal rights as they are to creating and selling toxin free, vegan goods launches their offerings to conscious consumers. They will be donating 10% of sales to non-profit environmental and animal welfare organizations.

Algonquin, IL January 12, 2005 -- Planda, a company as devoted to the environment and animal rights as they are to creating and selling toxin free, vegan goods launches their offerings to conscious consumers. They will be donating 10% of sales to non-profit environmental and animal welfare organizations. Last year, Kathy Davis, President of Planda, who quit her job to pursue her dream of becoming a labor and delivery nurse, turned to her love of soap making to fund her way. I needed a way to support myself through college. Being a vegetarian soap maker left few options for me, I knew if I was going to do this I didnt want to be just another soap company, I wanted to make a difference, not just soap.

Planda wants to let everyone know being a vegetarian does not have to be boring, or a hard lifestyle to adopt and how beneficial to the environment it is. Caring about animals and the environment is one in the same; they benefit each other more than people are aware. They have a exciting concept in the works to bring awareness and raise funds to be donated to animal welfare organizations. We are looking for famous vegetarians to autograph sheets of recycled paper to use as gift wrap for our customers. When they choose to have their order wrapped for a small fee, all the money raised will be donated. So Im shoutn out to Joaquin, Alicia, Dre, Fiona, Sir Paul, Jude, Alec, and Natalie... any one out there?

Planda is committed to making a difference in the world. They offer only healthy, vegan, earth friendly goods and financially contribute to organizations that are hands on in making this world a better place. Their online shop offers hand made vegan goods such as tub truffles, butter soap and eye pillows made with rescued t-shirts from local thrift stores. It was important for them to also offer informative newsletters, vegan recipes and links to non-profit organizations that would be of interest to their customers. Planda is a proud member of Co-op America and One Percent for the Planet, staying actively connected with the green business community.
